The Plunge

The Plunge: Middle School students (Grades 6th – 8th), meet on Sunday nights from 4:30 - 6:00 pm at the South Campus for some small group Bible study, snacks, and some of the wildest game time in the county!

This Week at The Plunge --- What’s your “if only”? Every one of us has one, two or a hundred different scenarios in which we would do or say something differently. That e-mail we wish we wouldn’t have sent. That relationship that we should have avoided—or never began. We all have things we would do differently if given the chance. So if life inevitably brings “if only” moments, how do we handle the regrets that haunt us? How can we keep the mistakes we made yesterday from messing up today and tomorrow?

BETH MOORE LIVE SIMULCAST: Join together with area women from several different churches at Christ the King Church on September 18th for the Living Proof Live simulcast featuring Beth Moore, internationally known evangelist, author, and teacher. Registration for the day long event (9:30 am -5:00 pm) is $20 which includes lunch. Family Skate Night

Join the families of New River for Family Skate Night on Monday, September 20th from 6:00pm - 8:30pm at Kate's Skating Rink

1151 Skating Rink Drive (at the corner of Hudson and Union Road). Their number is 704-864-7007 if you'd like to call for more information.

Meet at the rink and have some fun with the rest of the River Kidz.

Cost: $2.00 to skate and $1.00 for snack bar specials. $4.00 if you would like to rent roller blades.

Peru Mission Trip
Friday, Oct 8, 2010 - Sunday, Oct 17, 2010 @ Peru

Sullana, Peru

Cost: $2,200-2,500

Sullana, a city of 300,000 located in northwest Peru, is in an extremely poor, remote region. Many outlying villages are comprised of mud brick or even cardboard huts, with no running water. Ministry to reach the people for Jesus Christ began in Sullana 4 years ago. The New River team will partner with local pastors to conduct both evangelism by sharing the gospel and also by ministering medically to the Peruvians in the region. Each team member will be assigned a local translator.

Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses are especially needed on this trip in order for the team to provide medical care to the hundreds who seek help at makeshift clinics. At least 6-10 nonmedical personnel are needed in order for the team to conduct thorough village evangelism. Goals are to share Jesus Christ with as many Peruvians as possible, introduce them to basic discipleship principles, and to medically treat those who seek care.

Meet & Greet

A Meet & Greet is a great way to meet our staff and some key leaders in a casual environment with no expectations. This is an opportunity to ask questions, enjoy conversations, and eat some delicious appetizers.

We will provide free childcare.

Father and Son Camping Weekend
Friday, Oct 15, 2010 - Sunday, Oct 17, 2010 @ starts Friday at 5:00 pm @ Kings Mountain State Park

It's time to pull out those "man cards" men and join New River for an exciting weekend in the great outdoors for our "Father and Son Camping Weekend". Camp York, located inside Kings Mountain State Park, is a summer camp environment that provides an outdoor experience that includes cabin sleeping quarters with twin beds, a mess hall, lake access and plenty of woods. Put on your best game face men and eat your "Wheaties". This will be a weekend full of manly challenges, games and father and son fun.

Early Registration Fee is $35 per adult/family and is due by September 20th.

Registration Fee is $45 per adult/family and ends October 11th.

Please note that this price does not include food for the weekend, as this will be coordinated with your Tribe Leader.

Ladies Fall Retreat

You are invited to the New River Community Church Ladies Fall Retreat. We'll spend time together relaxing, connecting, and studying God's Word in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Who: Ladies from New River Community Church and their friends.
What: A great chance to get away, relax, get into the Word of God, and develop deeper relationships with other women.

When: October 21th - 23rd
Where: Island Vista in Myrtle Beach, SC, which for those who went last time is the same location.

How: Register Online! Space is limited, so sign up now and reserve your spot with the $50 deposit. Please note that any fees for an additional day or your own bed will be added to your initial $50 deposit.

Early Bird Rate: a non-refundable deposit of $50 is due by August 10th. $125 per person, or $160 to have your own bed.

Regular Registration: $160 per person, or $195 to have your own bed.

Breakfast will be included. And Friday night we will do a nice dinner together, either at a nice place out or a nice meal in. If you would like to arrive a day early, on October 20^th, that is available on a first come/first serve basis for additional $50.

All remaining balances will need to be paid in full by October 1st.
