10for90 Challenge

10for90 Challenge: to Give 10% for 90 days.
We believe the Bible teaches that we should give a minimum of 10 percent back to God. The word "tithe" is derived from the Hebrew word ma’aser and it literally means a tenth.
 
6"For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.  7From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them.  Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts.  But you say, 'How shall we return?'  8Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me.  But you say, 'How have we robbed you?'  In your tithes and contributions.  9You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.  10Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.  11I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts.  12Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts. ~Malachi 3: 6-12

So as New Testament believers, we worship the Lord with the tithe; or the ten percent.

Giving away 10% of your income can be a big - and often frightening - commitment! But God says for us to test Him in this. The only time in the Bible that He says to test Him is with our finances, which for many people is the most difficult area of their lives to trust Him. That's why we created the 10for90 Challenge. As a church we’re taking God at His Word. He says to quit robbing Him and put Him to the test, and see if He will not bless us. So if you are not currently tithing, if you’ll begin to tithe and continue to tithe 10% of your income for 90 days and then you don’t begin to see God blessing you and your family, we’ll return the money to you. We believe that when God says something, He means it. So when you participate in 10for90 Challenge you get a money-back guarantee of sorts, because we believe God’s Word to be 100% true.  If you would like to join the challenge, email 10for90@nrcc.net.

We commit to you that if you tithe for three months and God doesn’t hold true to His promises of blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe. No questions asked.

God doesn't need our money because He owns everything. But we give first because it takes faith to give first and God wants us to trust Him. He tells us in Proverbs 3:9-10 to "honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops and then your barns will be filled with overflowing." We give first and the blessings of God follow.
You can begin the 10for90 Challenge at any time!  Just agree to the following statements and communicate your commitment to us; then we will send you some encouraging emails from Arthur.
 
I understand that this form must be completed and received by New River Community Church prior to me and my family beginning 10for90 Challenge.

I understand that my household qualifies for participation because we have not been tithing for the last six months.

I understand that my tithe must be paid by check, or by completed offering envelope, or online so that my tithe can be properly credited.
 
I would like to test God's faithfulness by accepting the 10for90 Challenge.
